Northwind Survey: four tabs down to one screen

A surveying team reviewing project records

Northwind Survey runs about 260 projects at once across four regional offices. Before Axiom, picking up somebody else’s project meant a mail search, a folder on the shared drive, the ticket queue and a phone call to whoever had it last.

Handover was the expensive part

They measured it once, out of curiosity: eleven working days from assignment to a surveyor feeling on top of a project they had inherited. Most of that was not work. It was finding out what had already happened.

Where it landed

Handover now runs at two to three days, and the difference is not a feature so much as the absence of a search. The timeline is the briefing. Their operations lead put it as: nobody starts by asking what happened last month.
