Eleven people and one bench by the window. We turn work away most weeks, because the alternative is a second bench.
It started because a wedding went wrong
In 2013 Aurélie ordered flowers for her sister’s wedding from a well-reviewed shop on Rue de Rivoli. They arrived an hour late, brown at the edges, in a colour nobody had asked for. She spent the reception in the kitchen, re-cutting stems with a bread knife.
Maison Verte opened fourteen months later with three rules that have not changed. Buy direct from the growers. Photograph everything before it leaves. Tell the customer the truth about how long it will last, even when the truth loses the sale.
We are on the third rule most days. It costs us roughly a fifth of our revenue, and it is the only reason anyone trusts a florist twice.
We would rather lose the sale than round the number up.

Three things you will not find here
No dyed flowers
Dyed and glittered stems cannot drink properly and die in three days. We will not sell them.
No floral foam
It is a single-use microplastic. Everything here is built in water, on a grid, or on moss.
No fake urgency
No countdown timers and no “only two left”. The stock number you see is the cold room count.
We arrange every week for Hotel Sevigne, Maison Fauve, Cafe Bastien, Amande, Galerie Perrin, Bar Lucien, Domaine Clairval and Maison Foucher.
